Outside of my love of letterpress, John and I both have a few other hobbies that keep us busy. He got his private pilot’s license last summer and loves anything aviation (my Instagram feed has quite a few photos from our adventures).
Now that we’re finally out of the crazy cold and snow that winter brought us, we’ve taken a few flights this spring. I bought a new camera for the shop and thought our last flight would be a good opportunity to try it out. It’s still quite brown across the state, but I’m looking forward to seeing all the green from the air.
We rent a small plane from the local airport and generally land in other small towns across Iowa. Its fascinating to see how the seasons change from the air and to have the chance to visit little gems across the midwest. We’ve visited the home of 2013 Iowa Pork Producers Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin winner in Mt. Pleasant and stopped in to both of our families via plane. Now I just need to start a list of print shops to visit across the Midwest!
