This time a year ago I sent a week a top my aluminum steed, biking across the state of Iowa on RAGBRAI (The Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa). The ride isn’t a race, but more of a traveling county fair. Over 20,000 bikers travel through the back roads of Iowa and each town welcomes the crowd with music, small town hospitality, and the food, oh the food. We’re talking the best church-lady pies, breakfast burritos, porkchops, and homemade tastiness. Let’s just say I not only biked my way through Iowa; I also ate my way across the state.
I wasn’t able to return this year (and am still a bit sad about it), but am still cheering on those making the trek (go Team Fist Pump!). For those on the route, heading to Des Moines, check out the events at the State Historical Building and the poster show inside — Iron Leaf Press has a poster in the exhibit! After the show ends, I’ll post the remaining posters in the shop, but in the mean time, check out last year’s poster for the PedalArt show in my Etsy store or in Des Moines at Domestica!
